How does Dots work?

Dots is a job portal that is interactive, convenient and user friendly. It is a recruitment portal that is designed to perform all the basic requirements of the current job portals, which are:

Employer/Recruiter
  • Post Jobs
  • Search database fro CV's
Job Seekers
  • Apply for jobs that are advertised
  • Get alerts of jobs that meet their interests

In this case, you have two possibilities: Post your job online yourself, using our 'order online'. You just have to follow a few simple steps, and receive a confirmation when your access details are ready to post your job online. You already have a Dots account?

Post your job online yourself, through your Dots account. Your job will then appear online immediately. For any assistance call your dedicated Dots contact person or call Support on +27 11 056 9644.

Don’t forget, your job is also sent to a selection of candidates that match the profile.

How long will it take for my job to appear online?

If you have a Dots account, you can post your job online immediately. If you use an online order or ask us to post it online for you, your job will be online within 48 hours (Mon. – Fri. 8:00 am to 17:00 pm) after confirmation of your payment.

How do I pay?

You can decide for yourself how to pay for an online order: Either by EFT or with a credit card. If you pay via EFT, it may take up to 48 hours for your payment to be detected.

If you sign a contract with us as proposed by one of our efficient sales consultants, you can pay on invoice, via EFT/Debit order.

How do candidates find my job?

You post your jobs in the relevant categories. Candidates who are searching for a job in those categories will see your jobs in their result list. Your job will also be sent to candidates who have the correct profile, through our Job Alerts.

The latest jobs always appear at the top of the result list. Your job can also be placed again at the top of the result list or sent again with the Job Alert if they are already online.

How do I receive the applications?

You will receive applications directly through your Dots account. Login to your account and from here, you can manage all responses.

How do I post a job?

If you have purchased an advert online, you can post a job online yourself by logging in with the details provided once payment has been received.

Entering all the information takes just a few simple steps.

If you have a contract with Dots, you can set up new jobs in your account. Click “create advert” and you can then begin to add the text of the job advertisement in the appropriate fields. You can always preview your job as it will appear online. Choose the categories you want your job to appear in; candidates who search in these categories will then find your job.

What if I want to post more than one job online?

You can post as many jobs online as you like, depending on how many credits you have. But it is better to contact someone at Dots first.

Please call +27 11 056 9644 to be put through to your contact person. He or she will work with you to see which solution is the most beneficial and the most efficient for you.

You do not have to post your jobs online manually; we can do it for you. There is however, a surcharge for this service.

Who will put my job online?

The choice is yours!

You can post your own job online with an online order.
You can post your own job online in your Dots account

What will my job look like?

This is mostly up to you, as you can choose between a standard template or a personalised template.

You also decide the length of the job description for yourself. While in newspapers you are bound by certain rules about the length of the text, here you have complete freedom.

How long will my job stay online?

Your job will normally be online for 30 days, though shorter periods are also possible. You can take your job offline whenever you wish, whether you posted it with an online order or from your Dots account.

If you have an account, you can retrieve jobs after they have been taken offline, view statistics, re-post your job online and so on.

I cannot see emails from Dots in my inbox

If you are missing emails from Dots, please check your email account's Spam or Junk folder to ensure the message was not filtered. If the message was filtered, you may find an option to 'Mark as good' or 'Add sender to white-list.' This will aid in receiving future emails from Dots. Please also verify that the email address you provided to Dots is correct.
